Her workshops blend design sensibility with beginner‑friendly guidance, helping students feel confident from the moment they start creating. Maria believes design and creativity should feel grounding, joyful and accessible, and she specialises in teaching simple projects that look beautiful in modern Australian homes.

Make a Designer‑Quality Cushion Cover — Beginner Friendly

Join Maria for a calm, creative sewing workshop where you’ll learn to use a sewing machine and create a beautiful designer‑fabric cushion cover to take home. Perfect for absolute beginners wanting a gentle, creative experience.

We’ll begin by getting comfortable with the sewing machine: threading, bobbins, tension, and essential stitches. Once you’ve practised sewing straight lines and corners, you’ll prepare your fabric, learning how to measure, mark, cut and press for a clean, professional result.

Then you’ll sew your own cushion cover using an envelope closure — an achievable project for absolute beginners that gives you a functional, stylish piece to take home.

Sewing is wonderfully calming and grounding and known to support relaxation, focus, and a sense of accomplishment — perfect for anyone looking to unwind while learning a new skill.

All materials are provided, and you’ll leave with a finished cushion cover you’ll be proud to display at home.

What you’ll make: A 45 × 45 cm cushion cover using designer fabric that is modern, and sanctuary‑inspired.

What’s included: Designer fabric, thread, tools, sewing machines, tea, coffee & treats.
